Description: At Biggie’s Crack Toffee we say “this is not your grandma’s toffee”. Our toffees are different than the old-fashioned stuff on the market which are thick and have dull toppings (and usually use corn syrup and preservatives). Our toffees are thin and covered in premium dark chocolate with cool toppings and a hint of sea salt which makes them sweet, savory and irresistible. I was making toffee for fun and always hearing “you should sell this” so I decided to do just that! We make our toffee at the Entrepreneur Space, in Long Island City, a shared kitchen space and incubator. Starting a company can be a lonely journey at times and it is wonderful to have resources and people to rely on. And we love making our toffee in my hometown, New York City! One of my missions when I started Biggie’s was to hire people who want to work but may have trouble finding employment for many reasons. I was delighted to be able to hire over 10 people last year to work at Biggie’s. Much of this was over the holiday season but as our business grows we hope to create many more jobs. Biggie’s Crack Toffee made Oprahs’ favorite list for 2016 which was a great validation for our product and amazing honor. But this is just a starting point. We will use the grant to expand our marketing efforts to increase our presence both on line and in stores. We are proud to produce something so delicious that people love!
